GC swept in Marion as IWU stays undefeated at 23-0

Box Score MARION, Ind. - Now at 23-0 and 12-0 in the Crossroads League, the Indiana Wesleyan women's volleyball team swept Goshen on their "Dig Pink" night 25-16, 25-17, 25-16. The Wildcats moved up a spot to #2 in the NAIA when the coaches' poll was released earlier on Wednesday.

Goshen was down 4-0 early in the first set but pulled within one at 7-6. IWU won the last five points of the set after Goshen was down four at 20-16. GC used a stretch of three straight points to pull within four midway through the second set, but the home team answered with seven points of their own on the way to a 25-17 win. Like the first set, Indiana Wesleyan scored the first four points of the third set, but the Maple Leafs rallied to tie it at 12 apiece. But a 13-4 run ended it as IWU won the third 25-16.

Sadie Brenneman had nine kills, Alaina Wolfe had nine digs and Kelsie Hankins had 21 assists. Emily Lynch provided two aces, two block assists, five kills and four digs.

Goshen is at Calumet College of St. Joseph on Friday, October 13, at 3:00 pm ET. They return to Crossroads League play next Wednesday at Marian.
