UPLAND, Ind. - Madalyne Swallow scored her second goal this week and
Anita Tavares scored her first of the season as Goshen lost 6-2 on the road at #25 Taylor on Saturday night. The loss eliminated the Leafs from Crossroads League Tournament contention.
Taylor led 4-0 at the half with goals in the 12th, 17th, 34th and 44th minutes from four different players. Audrey Grimm scored her second goal in the 65th minute, but Tavares answered with Goshen's first goal less than a minute later. After another Taylor goal, Swallow put one of her five shots on goal for the day into the back of the net to make it 6-2.
Taylor had 36 shots in the game - they are fourth in the NAIA in that category this season. They won the shots on goal category tonight 15-11. Goshen's 11 shots on goal was tied for the second-most in a game this season.
Swallow's five shots on goal were more than her last six games combined. She had previously never had more than one shot on goal in a game this season. Tavares and
Amy Drew each had two shots on goal and Karitas Arnardóttir and
Alessandra Aguilera both had one.
The Crossroads League Tournament begins on Saturday, November 4.
