#17 Pilots sweep Leafs, ending 2023 women's volleyball season

Goshen won 31.3% of the sets they played in this season - a 16.9% increase from the year before

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - In their final match of the season, the Goshen College women's volleyball team lost at #17 Bethel in three sets. The Pilots improved to 25-5 overall. Goshen finishes 8-24 - with more wins than the last three years combined. They tied their most nonconference wins in a season since 2017.

The Pilots had a strong offensive attack in the first set - with 17 kills, one attack error and a .640 hitting percentage. They won the first set 25-13 but Goshen came back in the second set. Even though Bethel was still hitting .406 in that set, Goshen started with a 5-1 lead and led 23-21 before dropping the last four points. Bethel finished the set with back-to-back aces. BU went up 10-2 in the third set and cruised to a 25-11 win.

Emily Lynch had ten kills and a .421 hitting percentage in her second match back after missing three due to injury. Sadie Brenneman had six kills and seven digs. Kelsie Hankins had 22 assists and two aces and Christina Towne added two more aces in her final match as a Maple Leaf.

Goshen won 31.3% of the sets they played in this season - a 16.9% increase over the 14.4% of sets they won in 2022. Sadie Brenneman led the team with 320 kills, Kelsie Hankins led the team with an even 900 assists, Alaina Wolfe led the team with 41 aces and 391 digs and Bailee Brown led the team with 74 blocks. Brenna Spangler was right behind with 73.
