GOSHEN, Ind. - In their home opener, the men's basketball team lost a second-half lead to IU-East, as the Red Wolves pulled away late to win 77-69.
Isaac Miller scored a career-high 22 points.
Goshen had as much as a five-point lead in the first half and led 37-36 at the break. The teams went back and forth to start the second half, but IU-East took the lead for good in the final eight minutes. Miller had seven rebounds with his 22 points and made four of the team's six three-pointers. He also had a block and two steals.
Karson Jenkins scored 18 points off the bench and was 7-7 at the free-throw line.
Judah Simfukwe was 6-6 at the line with ten points and three assists total. As a team, Goshen was 21-23 at the free-throw line - an incredible 91.3%.
DJ Bryant had nine points and three assists.
Goshen hosts IU-South Bend on Wednesday at 8:00 pm as a part of the Crossroads/Chicagoland Challenge. IU-South Bend is receiving votes in the latest coaches poll. You can come to Gunden Gymnasium earlier and watch Bethel and Holy Cross College square off at 6:00 pm that same Wednesday, November 15. Bethel is also receiving votes.
