GOSHEN, Ind. - Zion Neat knocked down a season-high five three-pointers as the Maple Leafs lost to Saint Francis (Ind.) at home on Wednesday evening, 74-65.
Neat scored Goshen's first six points of the game - hitting two three-pointers just 35 seconds apart. By the end of the first quarter, she was at 11 points, and the Leafs led 20-17.
However, Goshen struggled in the second quarter as the Cougars made 63.6% of their baskets and scored 21 points to go up 38-33 at the half. Goshen has been outscored 100-49 in the last four games in the second quarter.
The point differential stayed the same as the teams started the fourth quarter. The Maple Leafs cut the lead to just two on multiple occasions in the fourth, but USF scored 18 of the final 29 points to win by nine.
Neat's 23 points are her most in a conference game this season. Her nine field goals tied her most in a game this year, and her five three-pointers are a season-high.
Sa'drea Rougeau had her third double-digit performance with 15 points, which is her fifth game of 15+ points this season.
Sophia Eli brought in a career-high nine rebounds - three better than she had ever posted in a game.
Kiana Oelling finished with nine points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Cassidy Crawford had a double-double for the Cougars, displaying 18 points with 12 rebounds. Chloe McKnight recorded 21 points. She shot 5-6 from behind the arc, 6-6 at the free-throw line, and 5-8 overall.
