GOSHEN, Ind. - The Maple Leafs pitching staff allowed more walks than hits against the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats on Monday in the second and third games of the series. IWU won 9-3 in game one before taking game two 20-2.

The Wildcats led 4-1 in the seven-inning game one going into the final inning, but they scored five runs in the seventh on three hits. Peyton Anderson and Joseph Cerda picked up RBIs in the bottom half of the inning to make it 9-3, but they ended the inning with back-to-back looking strikeouts.

Preston Anderson was 4-4 in the game for the Leafs with a run and an RBI. Trent Sillett and Jenner Rodammer had two hits each and both scored a run. Eric Pettipiece had the loss, going 4.1 innings and allowing three earned runs on three hits while walking seven batters.

The Wildcats scored nine runs in the eighth inning of game two on the way to another lopsided victory. IWU hit four home runs in the game and had 12 walks. Will Eldridge struck out ten Goshen batters in five innings pitched. Dalton Soergel had the loss for GC, striking out five and allowing nine earned runs in 4.1 innings.

The Maple Leafs had three hits in the game with two coming from Nate Lange. The shortstop had an RBI on a groundout and a double. Indiana Wesleyan improves to 14-9-1 overall and 9-2 in the Crossroads League.

Goshen is at Spring Arbor on Thursday, March 23, with a 1:00 start for game one. They conclude that series on Saturday.
