GOSHEN, Ind. - Huntington scored their first goal less than five minutes into their game in Goshen on Saturday night and never looked back. The Foresters went on to win both teams' Crossroads League opener by a 6-0 score.
The statsheet wasn't as one-sided as the scoreboard would indicate. Goshen gave up two goals in the first half and four in the second. However, they were only outshot 19-13, and they had four more corner kicks than Huntington.
About 15 minutes in, Goshen had three shot attempts on the same play.
Wendo Kisila took the first shot which was blocked. The second hit the crossbar, and
Tebello Ntene's shot went wide left to end the play. Huntington's goalie Dan Pellegrine made four saves for the evening.
Samuel Marchi,
Mathurin Allawai,
Bryan Yahir Rodriguez and
Jorge Silva had shots on goal for GC.
