SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - Goshen lost to the defending NAIA national champions on Saturday afternoon when they faced Spring Arbor on the road. The Cougars won by a 6-0 score to stay undefeated at 10-0-0.
Three of Spring Arbor's goals came in the first five minutes, while the next three came over the next 85 minutes. Jocelyn Hendricks scored 22 seconds in and then again in the fifth minute. Kaylee Beekel assisted both goals, and although she never scored, Beekel finished the game with four assists. Lauren Marshall's goal with under four minutes to go in the match was her tenth goal this season.
Fifteen of Spring Arbor's 19 shots were on target. Goshen finished with three shots and two on goal - all in the first half. Karítas Arnardóttir and
Sophia Yoder had the two shots on goal.
Victoria Naylor made nine saves in goal - a season-high for her.
Goshen is at Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, October 7, at 7:00 pm.
