GOSHEN, Ind. - Goshen lost to #9 Bethel at home on Senior Night 5-0. Piero Sabroso had a hat trick for the Pilots and has now scored 16 goals in 16 games this season.
The Pilots won the NAIA National Championship in 2022, but had already lost four conference games this year. After losses to Indiana Wesleyan and Marian, Bethel got back on track and dominated early in Goshen. They scored three times between the 21st and 34th minutes and had nine first-half shots. Sabroso scored two goals in the second half and the team added 16 more shots to their total.
Goshen had six shots in the game with two shots on goal coming from
Adrian Gonzalez Martinez.
Eli Simones,
Stephen Bandi,
Eduardo Curvo and
Iker Fernandez-Andes also took shots for the Leafs.
Pedro Vebber made seven saves and allowed two goals as Goshen's second half goalkeeper.
Gregor Rommelspacher played the first and made three saves while allowing three goals.
Goshen is at Grace on Saturday, October 26, at 5:00 pm. This game was originally scheduled to be played at 7:00 pm.
