MARION, Ind. - Goshen lost in three sets on the road at #9 Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday. The defending NAIA national champion Wildcats won 25-16, 25-14, 25-7 in their Pink Out match.
Each team won five of the first ten points and Goshen hung around down three at 11-8. But the Wildcats scored four straight to go up by seven and wound up winning the set by nine. Goshen was down two in the second when the home team went on an 8-0 run to take their lead to 18-8. Goshen scored three points when IWU was at set point but the Wildcats won 25-14. Indiana Wesleyan scored the first six points in the third and then led 14-2 on the way to a one-sided 25-7 third set.
Sadie Brenneman was tied for the lead with eight kills in the match.
Kelsie Hankins had her fewest assists in a match since August 28 against Aquinas but her most digs in a match since Clarke on August 31. She had 14 assists and 13 digs. Spangler had an ace and three block assists and
Ava Egolf added an ace despite having four service errors.
Goshen is off this weekend and returns home on Wednesday, October 9, at 7:00 pm against Taylor.
