GOSHEN, Ind. - Goshen tied Taylor on Wednesday night at home 0-0, their fourth 0-0 tie in the league portion of the season. Taylor is receiving votes in the coaches poll.
Goshen had a shot to make the Crossroads League tournament even with the tie, but Mount Vernon's 2-0 win against Saint Francis secured a spot for the Cougars and eliminated the Maple Leafs. For the tournament, #8 Bethel will play at #1 Spring Arbor, #7 Mount Vernon Nazarene will play at #2 Marian, #6 Saint Francis will play at #3 Indiana Wesleyan and #5 Taylor will play at #4 Grace.
Taylor took more shots but Goshen had more shots on goal. Seven of Goshen's eight attempts were on frame.
Lexy Adamczyk led the Leafs with two shots on goal.
Aina Lopez made five saves in goal during the shutout. Lopez has allowed only two goals in her last 450 minutes of action. Her goals allowed per game average is 1.38 with a save percentage of .771.
Goshen ends the year with a 1-10-6 record and 0-5-4 mark in the Crossroads League.
