GOSHEN, Ind. - Although the GC men's basketball team outscored Huntington by seven in the second half, the Foresters had a 47-32 first-half advantage and defeated the Leafs 81-73 on Senior Day. Goshen recognized

Drew Hackman,
Parker Sullivan and
Graham Eley before the game.
The teams were knotted up at 29-29 when Huntington went on an 18-3 run to end the first half. The Goshen defense improved much in the second half, holding the Foresters to 1-14 shooting from three and 12-35 from the field.
Goshen had 19 points from
Judah Simfukwe. The sophomore added five rebounds and five assists.
Isaac Miller had 15 points and six rebounds, sinking three three-pointers.
Jared Bonds had a ten-point and ten-rebound double-double. This was Goshen's closest result against Huntington since their 63-62 thriller on January 18, 2022, when
Michael Johnson made the go-ahead basket with 6.3 seconds to go.
This concludes the season for the team, as they did not qualify for a spot in the Crossroads League tournament. Those pairings are as follows:

Isaac Miller! Isaac is being escorted by his brothers Noah and Ethan Miller. He is a marketing major and plans on moving to Birmingham, Alabama after college and find a job in sales. Coach Capps says, "With his vocal leadership and great shooting ability, Isaac is an important part of our program. No matter how many times he makes a mistake or is frustrated, he always bounces back." Thank you, Isaac!

Michael Johnson! Michael is being escorted by his parents Michael and Monica, his fiancé Chole, and his siblings Ashley, Shay and Treyvez. He is an accounting major and plans on working at RSM after graduation. Coach Capps says, "Mike is a great leader for our program and gets it done in the classroom. Despite an injury, he stayed positive and helped his teammates on the court." Thank you, Michael!

Quincy Mussio! Quincy is being escorted by his parents Mark and Carol Mussio. He is a marketing major and is enrolled in the master's in business administration program. He will be returning to Goshen College next semester to finish his MBA degree and then will be returning home to Cincinnati, Ohio. Coach Capps applauded Quincy's ability to keep a smile on everyone's face despite any situation that they were facing. Thank you, Quincy!

Micah Spatt! Micah is being escorted by his parents Marty and Lizette Spatt. He is a double major in history and education. In the short-term, he plans on being a graduate assistant. In the long-term he would like to become a college basketball coach. Coach Capps says, "Micah is a great high energy guy that bring it everyday no matter how he is feeling. That energy will certainly be missed." Thank you, Micah!

Drew Hackman! Drew is being escorted by his parents Shelly and Andre, his brother Micah and his girlfriend Anna. He is an engineering physics major and is currently planning on moving to Denver next year. Coach Capps described Drew as a great culture guy who did a lot for us in the classroom. Thank you, Drew!

Parker Sullivan! Parker is being escorted by Stori and Jamey Sullivan and Liliana Herrera. He is a biochemistry major and plans to work in a research lab after graduation. Coach Capps described Parker as a high character guy who is certainly going to be successful. Thank you, Parker!
Last but not least is
Graham Eley! Graham is being escorted by his parents Hillary and Brian Eley, his fiance Kiana Oelling and his sister Helena Eley. He is an accounting major and would like to work in public accounting and hopefully coaching at some level. Coach Capps says "Graham is a high academic student who was a great culture and locker room guy. He didn't play this season but helped in the weight room before graduating in December." Thank you, Graham!
