GOSHEN, Ind. - The Goshen men's volleyball team nearly pulled off a stellar comeback against a ranked opponent but fell short in five sets. #14 Lawrence Tech won 25-23, 25-22, 25-27, 21-25, 15-12.
The Maple Leafs had their fourth-best hitting percentage in a match this season. In the fifth set, the Blue Devils had a 7-4 lead when Goshen used their first timeout and a 10-6 edge when they used their second. Goshen scored four of the following five points when they were down 13-8 but couldn't rally back.
Hasan Hadzic had 31 kills and
Sawyer Frystak added ten.
Bruno Barac had seven kills, a .700 hitting percentage and eight block assists. Hadzic is leading the NAIA with 4.79 kills per set.
Igor Sapucaia had 49 assists and
Pablo Sanchez had ten digs.
Lawrence Tech advanced to 9-1 with the win and 5-1 in the WHAC. Goshen has their final two nonconference matches up next. They start by taking on Wabash on Tuesday, February 27, at 7:00 pm.
