GOSHEN, Ind. - While they were in it every set, Goshen men's volleyball lost to Cornerstone on Wednesday night in three. The Golden Eagles are now 11-2 with the 25-23, 25-20, 25-22 win. Cornerstone is receiving votes in the coaches poll.
Cornerstone went up 21-16 in the first set when the Leafs scored five straight to tie it. The visitors used a timeout and scored twice after it. Then Goshen used a timeout, but Cornerstone prevailed 25-23.
The Golden Eagles took early leads of 4-0 and 12-6 in the second set on their way to a 25-20 win. Then, Goshen took an early 10-5 lead in the third set. Cornerstone chipped away and scored the final four points of the match after Goshen led 22-21.
Bruno Barac tied a season-high with eight block assists.
Ishmail Bangura and
Ben Koop had three each. Bangura had ten kills and Barac had nine digs.
Igor Sapucaia totaled 18 assists.
Goshen (7-10, 1-7 WHAC) is at #13 Lourdes on Friday, March 15, at 7:00 pm.
