Cerda's offense unable to get Leafs past Foresters on Saturday

Cerda had three of Goshen's eight hits on the day

GOSHEN, Ind. - Goshen lost twice to Huntington on Saturday at home, 3-1 and 6-2. After going 1-3 in the series, the Leafs are 7-16 in Crossroads League competition.

Game One
Huntington scored on a wild pitch in the first inning and Goshen evened it up in the fourth on a sac fly from Trent Sillett.  But the Foresters immediately had an answer with two runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Peyton Smith had an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth, but the Maple Leafs had just six hits and couldn't string together enough runs. Huntington scored once more in the top of the ninth as they were victorious 6-2.

Baylor Orcutt threw five innings for Goshen with three earned runs. With the loss, he is 1-5 this season. Joseph Cerda was 2-3 with a double, a run scored and a walk.

Game Two
Huntington never lost the lead and held Goshen to just two hits during a 3-1 game two win.
