GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Goshen disrupted Kuyper College's home opener on Saturday evening. The Leafs scored six goals, all in the first half, and came back to Goshen with a 6-0 shutout win.
Adrian Gonzalez Martinez and
Mathurin Allawai had two goals each for the Maple Leafs.
Tebello Ntene had one and
Guilherme Moreira had the other. Goshen finished with 14 shots on goal and Kuyper had one. The Cougars had an early chance that went off the crossbar, but Goshen started the goal-scoring less than two minutes later.
Allawai took six shots and Gonzalez Martinez added five more. Gonzalez Martinez had four of Goshen's 14 shots on goal.
Tebello Ntene had two assists. Wilkening, Moreira and
Iker Fernandez-Andes had one apiece. Ntene is tied for second in the Crossroads League in shots taken this season. He is tied for fifth with six goals this year and Fernandez-Andes is tied for third with four assists.
Goshen hosts Judson on Wednesday, September 18, at 7:00 pm in the team's last nonconference match of the season.
