JACKSON, Mich. - Goshen men's soccer seniors
Adrian Gonzalez Martinez and
Stephen Bandi were named to the 2025 Honorable Mention All-Crossroads League team, as announced by the conference on Thursday.
"Adrian's composure on the ball in the midfield and Stephen's attack mindset as a defender were instrumental in the successes we experienced this season," said head coach
Dan Sullivan. "Both were involved in so many facets of the game, attacking and defending, that it is no surprise the Crossroads League head coaches wanted to recognize them. I am hopeful the players returning next year will be able to take what Adrian and Stephen worked so hard to build here and continue to raise it to the next level."
Gonzalez Martinez is a midfielder from Metepec, Mexico. This season, he had four goals and two assists across the 15 games he played in, starting in 14Â of them. 17 of his 31 shots were on goal. He was tied for 12th in the league in shots on goal. He scored two goals in Goshen's 8-3 win over Rochester Christian and had the assist in the 1-1 tie with Marian.
Bandi is a defender from Nairobi, Kenya. He had two goals and an assist, 11 shots on goal and 28 total shots. He started in 15 of the 16 games that he played in. In the prior two seasons combined, he had one goal and three assists, ten shots on goal and 26 total shots.
The Player of the Year went to Julian Vargas Talamantes (Bethel) and the Coach of the Year was Mamba Chisoni (Saint Francis). Other awardees were Gustavo Nunes (Marian) for Offensive Player of the Year, Cole Little (Indiana Wesleyan) for Defensive Player of the Year and Luis Munoz (Grace) for both Midfielder of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
Goshen finished the season with a 6-8-3 record.
