Neat and Mohamed claim end-of-year Crossroads League awards

The All-Crossroads League honors were voted on by the CL head women's basketball coaches

JACKSON, Mich. - Zion Neat and Syanne Mohamed were recognized when the Crossroads League presented their end-of-year awards on Wednesday afternoon. Neat was named Second-Team All-Crossroads League while Mohamed made the Honorable Mention All-Crossroads League and All-Freshman teams. The All-Crossroads League honors were voted on by the head women's basketball coaches from around the league.

Neat was third in the conference with 490 points scored this season and fifth in points per game at 17.5. She was fourth in field goals made (185), seventh in free-throw percentage (81.4%) and tenth in three-pointers made (50).

Mohamed was third in the league in offensive rebounds with 80 and fourth in rebounds per game (9.5), defensive rebounds (186) and total rebounds (266). She was sixth in field goal percentage (51.5%) and ninth in blocks (26).

Both Neat and Mohamed joined the ranks of Goshen's 1,000 point scorers. Neat is ranked 12th all-time with 1,203 points as a Maple Leaf and Mohamed is 18th with 1,107. Neat is fifth all-time in program history in three-pointers made with 135 and fifth all-time in free-throw percentage at 80.3%. Her 490 points this season is the fourth-most in program history and the most since 2004, when Erin McDugle had 705 and Candice Williams scored 529. She also surpassed 2,000 career collegiate points earlier this season between her time at Goshen and Columbia International University. Mohamed's 843 rebounds ranks fourth in program history and her 92 blocks is second all-time only behind Keyaira Murff '21.

Abbey McNally of Marian was named the Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year. Cali Gregory of Saint Francis was selected as Freshman Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Jeremy Henney of Saint Francis was named Coach of the Year. Indiana Wesleyan beat Marian for the Crossroads League tournament title on Wednesday. The Wildcats have won four of the last five league tournament titles.
