FORT WAYNE, Ind. - In a pair of games that were moved up to avoid incoming rain, the Saint Francis Cougars defeated the Maple Leafs 10-0 and 10-6 on Friday morning.

Game One

While they only had seven hits, they walked nine times and were hit by pitches twice. Goshen's pitchers combined to throw 155 pitches while Saint Francis threw 96.

Game Two
The Leafs had a two-run lead after the fourth inning of game two but the Cougars had a momentum-changing bottom of the fifth inning that gave them a lead they held to the end.
Axell Espino Montero and
Trent Sillett both got on base as Goshen's #2 and #3 hitters in the lineup in the top of the first inning. With two outs,
Aidan Calvey hit a double to right center to score them both. Saint Francis scored once in the bottom half of the inning but Goshen scored two runs on three hits in the second.
Nick Padron and
Chris Godden both hit singles and Padron scored after a sacrifice fly off the bat of Espino Montero. A double from Sillett scored Godden and the lead was 4-1.
A couple of sac flies in the third put Saint Francis within one run but the Leafs upped their lead not long after. In the fourth, Chirs Godden singled, stole second and later advanced to third on a groundout.
Chase Smith hit a double to score him, and then stole third and scored on a throwing error by the catcher to make it 6-3.
That was the end of Goshen's scoring and the Cougars had another seven runs they tacked on. They had five hits in the fifth inning alone. Goshen had 1-2-3 innings in the fifth and sixth innings and one hit in the seventh but no runs.
Goshen had three pitchers throw two innings each.
Pedro Hernandez III allowed three earned runs as the starter.
