Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Kate Bodiker

Boulier leads Leafs to huge draw against #20 Taylor

This is their first result in conference play since 2024

UPLAND, Ind. - Women's soccer picked up its first result against a ranked opponent since 2017 as the Maple Leafs came to a 1-1 draw against the #20 Taylor Trojan. This was GC's first ever result on the road at Taylor as well — ending an 18-game losing streak in Upland.

The game started off with a bang as Natalie Boulier picked up a beautiful goal in just the 9th minute of action off a free kick. For the first goal of Boulier's career, she floated her shot over the keeper's hands, burying into the top netting.

The rest of the first half remained eventful for the Leafs as the Trojans poured on the pressure to find the equalizer, but couldn't get past the Leafs defense. It wasn't until the opportunity to regroup after half time that Taylor managed to break through. They found their own finish in the 48th minute as Lauryn Dolvin picked up her fifth goal of the year.

However, despite the Trojans outshooting the Leafs 34-3, the Leafs only let one slip. Hailey Ballast picked up a career high 15 saves to secure the tie for the Leafs, and the rest of the team did what needed to be done to keep their advantage where they could.

Only one caution was given, which was received by the Trojans in the 63rd minute — the Leafs came away with a sheet clean of yellow cards as well.

The Maple Leafs are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 3 for U.S. Highway 20 Cup action as they take on Bethel for their Senior Day matchup in front of a Homecoming crowd. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
