GOSHEN, Ind. - The #5 Marian women's basketball team improved to 20-2 this season and 10-2 in the Crossroads League as they defeated Goshen 75-36 on Saturday. Goshen scored just nine points in the first two quarters but outscored the Knights 27-26 in the last two.
Goshen led 3-2 when Marian went on a 27-1 run, hitting ten of 12 shots in that span while going 5-6 at the line to go up 28-4. The Leafs on the other hand were 0-9 with five turnovers in that span. Goshen was 2-25 in the first half, including making one of their final 22 shots.
While the Leafs vastly improved in the second half, shooting 37% just as Marian did, Goshen shot just 8% in the first compared to 52% for the Knights. Goshen had closed the third quarter on a 7-0 run.
Ava Egolf had 11 points off the bench and had three or more steals in a game for the third time this season.
Kyla Foster had ten rebounds and now has ten or more rebounds in six of the last nine games. Lucia Luque Morales' seven rebounds are the most in her last seven games.
