COLUMBIA, Ky. - Goshen led 4-3 through five, but Lindsey Wilson produced a seven-run eighth inning and held off a late Goshen rally to win 12-8 in the series finale at Egnew Park on Monday.
The Blue Raiders scored two unearned first inning runs, but Goshen starter
Jarrett Willoughby allowed no earned runs in his two innings of work. His six outs came from three flyouts and two groundouts - one of them being a double play. Goshen had the bases loaded in the third after
Nick Padron and
Chase Smith both walked and
Chris Godden reached on an error.
Dylan Pearson singled to center to score Padron and cut the lead in half. The Blue Raiders had an RBI double in the bottom half of the inning, but the Maple Leafs took the lead in the top of the fifth.

AJ Carrasquillo hit a sacrifice fly to score
Chris Godden. After
Jackson Whittington walked,
Tommy O'Connor reached on an error and
Chase Smith and
Troy Griffin scored to give Goshen a 4-3 lead. Lindsey Wilson retook the lead at 5-4 with a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth, and then had a massive seven-run, four-hit eighth inning to go up 12-4.
The Leafs didn't leave without a fight, however. Goshen scored four runs before even getting an out in the top of the ninth.
Aidan Calvey had an RBI double, immediately followed by a two-RBI single from
AJ Carrasquillo. With the bases loaded,
Barron Welsh walked and scored Carrasquillo to make it 12-8. After
Jackson Whittington was picked off at third, Padron flied out and
Chris Godden's lineout to the shortstop ended the game.
Lindsey Wilson had five errors and Goshen had two. The Leafs were outhit 10-9.
Kenny Ayala pitched a solid fourth and fifth inning for Goshen, not allowing any runs in that span.
Braylon Pond didn't allow any runs in his inning of work either.
Chris Godden had a double and a single for Goshen, scoring a run and walking once.
Troy Griffin and
Chase Smith scored two runs each.
AJ Carrasquillo had three RBIs while Smith and Whittington had two walks apiece.
