INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Goshen softball lost both games in a doubleheader against the top ranked team in the Crossroads League on Saturday. #6 Marian is now 13-2 after the 10-0 and 10-2 wins.
Game One
After a quick 1-2-3 top of the first, the Knights brought in nine runs in the bottom half of the inning. They had six hits and capitalized on two Goshen errors as well. Goshen starter
Esme Pico only allowed one earned run in her remaining three innings of work, but the damage had already been done. The Leafs left runners at first and second in the third and runners at second and third in the fifth inning. Marian won by run rule after five innings.
Pico is now 1-2 this season with the loss.

Hayden McGuire and
Celeste Gutierrez each had a single for Goshen. Gutierrez also had a walk and Serenidty Mitchem had a stolen base.
Game Two
Goshen's game two starter,
Camryn Barrows, made quick work of the Knights in the first, retiring the first three batters. The same was true in the second inning, but the Leafs had only one runner get on base offensively in the first two innings and it was still a scoreless game. Marian had an RBI single in the bottom of the third and
Hayden McGuire responded with an RBI single of her own to score
Audrey White.
Marian opened up with a four-run bottom of the fourth and the score was now 5-1.
Ella Mcleod hit an RBI double to left center in the top of the fifth and
Brinleigh Arredondo scored after reaching first on an error. Now 5-2, the home team added on five more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Marian won 10-2 once they hit the eight-run run-rule.
Camryn Barrows is now 5-2 this season after taking the loss. Mcleod's double was the only extra-base hit on the day for the Maple Leafs. McGuire had two singles and White had one.
Goshen (8-10, 2-4 CL) is at Indiana Wesleyan on Friday, March 20, at 4:00 pm.
