Northern claims Crossroads League Honorable Mention honor

Northern was tied for third in the league in steals this season

JACKSON, Mich. - Junior guard Marcus Northern was named Honorable Mention All-Crossroads League on Wednesday afternoon by the conference. The All-Crossroads League honors were voted on by the head men's basketball coaches from around the league.

Northern was tied for third in the conference in steals (48) and only two off from the league leader. He was fourth in minutes per game (32.4) and total minutes (906) and in the top 15 for field goals, three-pointers made, free-throw percentage, defensive rebounds, points per game and total points.

Caedmon Bontrager of Indiana Wesleyan was the Crossroads League Player of the Year. Kaden Johnson, a former Maple Leaf now playing for Huntington, was the Defensive Player of the Year. Tyler Raasch of Grace was the Newcomer of the Year and the Freshman of the Year. His head coach Scott Moore was the Coach of the Year.

Grace defeated Indiana Wesleyan 84-82 in a thrilling league championship game on Tuesday night, capturing their fifth straight league title - the longest stretch in conference history.
