GOSHEN, Ind. - After a doubleheader Saturday sweep at Bethel, Goshen softball was swept at home on Sunday to #11 Marian. The Knights won 8-0 and 17-9.

Game One
The Knight had two runs in the second, two in the third, two in the fifth and two in the sixth before winning by run rule. Goshen's only hit on offense came from Audrey White - a double down the left-field line in the bottom of the third. The Knights had ten hits of their own.

Esme Pico had the loss, allowing six earned and eight total runs in six innings. The Leafs had three errors.

Game Two
The Goshen offense improved drastically in the second game, however, the same could be said for Marian's.

The Knights built an early 6-0 lead by the middle of the third when Goshen got on the board for the first time on an RBI single from Esme Pico. Bianca Diamond and Audrey White scored to make it 6-2. The Knights scored a couple more in the fifth to go up 8-2.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hayden McGuire hit a monumental bases-clearing double to right center. Esme Pico, Shay Pipher and Bianca Diamond all came through to make it 8-5. The Maple Leafs had closed the gap, but the Knights reopened it in the sixth. Marian had a nine-run inning to go up 17-5, though the Leafs battled in the bottom half of the inning. Audrey White hit an RBI single and Tatem Adams added a two-RBI single a couple of batters later. Esme Pico hit an RBI groundout, but a flyout ended the game and the Knights left with a win.

Tatem Adams had the loss, dropping her record to 4-4. In 3.2 innings, she allowed five earned runs on seven hits. Audrey White and Esme Pico had two hits apiece. White scored twice and Pico had two RBIs. Hayden McGuire had three RBIs and Tatem Adams had two. Bianca Diamond scored twice.

Goshen hosts Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday, April 14, at 3:00 pm. The Wildcats are receiving votes in the NAIA coaches poll.
