GOSHEN, Ind. - Camryn Barrows dominated in the circle and four Maple Leafs had a multi-hit game in Goshen's 9-1 win over Grace after a 6-0 defeat in game one. Goshen is now 8-12 in the Crossroads League this season.
Game One
Grace starting pitcher Emma Hiss threw a gem, holding Goshen to just two hits in seven innings. She struck out 12 batters and walked one, not allowing any runs in the process. She needed just 93 pitches in the win.
Hiss drove in the first three runs, with an RBI single in the third and a two-run home run in the sixth. The homer started a five-run inning for the Lancers that they held for a 6-0 win.
Tatem Adams had the loss for Goshen. She allowed two earned runs in five innings pitched. Adams had six strikeouts and three walks. Goshen's hits, both singles, came from
Camryn Barrows and
Rachel Kates.
Game Two
In the second game, it was the Leafs that put up a five-run inning.
In the bottom of the second,
Kaylee Kline hit a solo home run, her second of the year. Kline had a batting average of .130 on March 25 that has increased to .250 since then.
Brinleigh Arredondo scored on a throwing error, Barrows hit a two-RBI double and
Audrey White followed it with an RBI single.
After the Lancers made it 5-1 in the third,
Serenidy Mitchem scored on a wild pitch and
Tatem Adams and
Rachel Kates had RBI hits in the fourth. Barrows had an RBI single in the fifth that made it 9-1, and allowed the Maple Leafs to win by run rule.
Barrows is now 6-5 this season after allowing one earned run in five innings pitched. She had four strikeouts and no walks with five hits allowed. At the plate, she went 2-3 with two runs, three RBIs and a walk.
