CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Former Goshen head women's basketball coach Stephanie Miller was recently named as the new Chief of Staff/Assistant Coach for the Boston College women's basketball program on Monday.

Miller was the head coach at Goshen for 13 seasons from 2011-2024. She is second all-time in program history in both career wins and conference wins. In the 2015-16 school year, Goshen set a program record with 27 wins and reached the NAIA Division II Fab Four. This was the first and only national semifinal appearance for any team in Goshen College history. Miller earned the Crossroads League Coach of the Year award that season for her efforts. She also guided the program to their first winning season in a decade, and in her final year, led the team to an eight-game winning streak - the program's longest since 1998-99.

Beyond the court, Miller served as senior woman administrator, associate athletic director, academic/athletic liaison, retention committee representative, game management coordinator and assistant sports information director. Tyra Carver, who played for Miller on the 2015-16 team, is the current head coach for Goshen and will be entering her third season.

"I am extremely excited for Coach Miller and this next chapter in her coaching journey," said Carver. "It's very inspirational to see the heights she has achieved. Going from the NAIA to a power four conference is such a blessing and a testament to all of the hard work and dedication she has put into basketball."

After Goshen, Miller spent the next two years as an assistant coach at Bradley University. The Braves saw their win total increase from six games the year before she arrived to 14 in her first year with the team and 20 in the 2025-26 season. She stepped in as interim head coach when head coach Kate Popevec-Goss was on maternity leave and guided Bradley to a pair of wins during that time. Popevec-Goss is now the head coach at Boston College. The Eagles finished 5-26 last season.

Miller is not the only one to come from the program and find recent success. Zion Neat became Goshen's first women's basketball alum to turn professional earlier this year, competing for Juvemaia in Maia, Portugal. Also, Syanne Mohamed just completed her first season at NCAA Division I Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, averaging seven points and ten rebounds per game.

"Coach Miller is essentially the foundation of the women's basketball program here at Goshen," Carver added. "It speaks to the level of ambition, motivation, and precision our program stands for. Diamonds can be found and created at any level. Coach Miller, Zion Neat, and Syanne Mohamed are all testaments to that. We aim to produce excellence and maximize everyone's potential in our women's basketball program."
