Jon Tropf enters his fifth season as the Maple Leafs' head coach in 2021-22.

He served as an assistant coach under head coach Neal Young for three seasons before that, earning a promotion to associate head coach in the summer of 2016.

In Tropf's first season as Goshen's head coach, the Maple Leafs defeated three teams that received NAIA top 25 votes and a pair of national tournament teams. The 2017-18 team led the Crossroads League in scoring with 84.9 points per game, the most in program history.

His second campaign in 2018-19 included a victory over an NCAA Division II school, Central State University, and an upset of the top-ranked team in the nation in Indiana Wesleyan University. That team received the Team Service Award from the Maple Leaf athletic department and included three players who went on to play professionally.

A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, raised in Findlay, Ohio, Tropf was previously a graduate manager for NCAA Division I institution Oakland University from 2012-14.

While an undergraduate at Eastern Michigan University, Tropf spent four years as a men's basketball manager, including three as the head manager. In 2011-12, he was part of an Eagles program that won the western division of the Mid-American Conference for the first time in school history. His duties included day-to-day operations, opponent scouting reports, summer camps, team travel, and meal planning.

Over the course of his career, Tropf has coached more than a dozen players who went on to play professionally.

As a player at Van Buren High School in Ohio, Tropf reached the quarterfinals of consecutive state basketball tournaments in 2007 and 2008. He has also spent summers as an AAU coach of seventh- and ninth-graders for the Western Washtenaw Basketball Association (2010-11) and running summer camps for inner-city boys through Team Focus USA (2011-12).

Tropf graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Michigan with a B.A. in history and received an M.A. in history at Oakland, where he was active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He enjoys watching the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, even though they test his patience.

Tropf lives in Goshen with his wife, Stef.
