Played for coach Viratham Mounsithiraj at Goshen High School … 2014 Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year … also an all-district and all-state selection … three-time all-conference pick and conference champion … set single-season and career goal-scoring record while leading team to 2014 state championship … academic all-state in 2013 and 2014 … mental attitude award winner in 2013 and 2014 … also played basketball and ran track … on the high honor roll all four years … member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL:
Born on February 18 … parents are Maria Concepcion de la Vega Perez and Francisco Huerta Gutierrez … has a brother, Ivan (23) … chose Goshen because “it was close to home and what the institution offered me both academically and athletically was exactly was I was looking for” … little-known personal fact is “I disliked soccer very much as a kid and didn’t start playing until I was 13”  … admires Leonel Messi because “he is the most humble athlete the world has ever seen, despite his tremendous fame and wealth” … best athletic moment was winning the state championship with his high school team
