Played for coach Peter Lewis at Arima North Secondary School … three-time conference champion … served as captain for national finalist in 2012 … graduated in 2013 as class valedictorian.

PERSONAL:
Born on January 6… parents are Michelle and Garvin Gilkes … has three siblings … chose Goshen because of “the ambition of the staff, the crowd support and the overall environment” … little-known personal fact is “my faith is larger than a mustard seed” … admires his coach because “he got an opportunity to study in college at an NAIA school, went on to play professionally and later used his degree to get a stable job and married his high school sweetheart. I admire the fact that he had the courage to chase his dreams and still remain faithful to his girlfriend back home. Those are steps I would like to follow: play pro, play for Trinidad and use my degree.” … best athletic moment was “before my first game with my high school team, when I had to give up my starting spot at the last minute to a more experienced player. From that day on my work ethic changed for the better.”
