Biography
HIGH SCHOOL:
Competed for coach Desiree Hitch at Ernest Righetti High School … four-time First-Conference … Player of the Year and First-Conference at AHC
PERSONAL:
Born on May 15 … parents are Sheriyce and Daniel Luna … has two siblings, Joseph and Daniel … transferred from Allan Hancock College after two seasons … chose Goshen because “it felt like a good fit for me both basketball wise and academically. For basketball I wanted to go somewhere I could continue playing at the college level, and focusing academically. Basketball has been a big part of my life. I have been playing since I was in third grade. Basketball has always been a passion of mine and seeing an opportunity here at Goshen College inspired me to continue playing. GC also gives me the opportunity to continue working toward my degree and prepare for my future career. This scholarship opportunity was also a major reason to continue because it allows me to focus more on school and basketball. Overall I am beyond grateful to have gotten the opportunity to play while continuing my studies here at Goshen” … most admires her mother because “she is very hard working, smart, and is full of love and support. My mother has supported me through everything in life — she has taken me to every game since I was 3 and has always pushed me to be better. I wouldn't be half of the player I am now if it wasn't for her. She has taken me to private trainers, travel teams, and miles away from home just to be better. My mom admires my passion like it's one of hers. Besides being my mother she is also my number one fan. She has taught me important life goals in life. I as well would not be half of the women I am today without her. She is my why in life” … little-known personal fact is “I've been playing basketball since I was in the third grade and it has been a huge part of my life ever since” … best athletic moment was “becoming known in my hometown. A lot of people know me as Bree Luna. During my high school years, I suffered injuries, such as tearing my ACL, and after my recovery I came back stronger and averaged almost a double double each game. I was just being me trying to recover and come back stronger than what I was before. A lot of people were inspired by that and loved the way I played as a player. As well one of my other accomplishments was always making the KSBY news”
