Nikki Gilles joins the Maple Leaf coaching staff for her first season in 2012-13, but she is already very familiar with the Crossroads League (Mid-Central College Conference) having starred at the University of Saint Francis.

Nikki (Lewis) Gilles graduated from Homestead High School in 2003.  A two-sport standout for the Spartans, Lewis was an all-state selection in soccer in addition to being named all conference and all district in basketball.  She was awarded Female Athlete of the Year as a senior before heading to Saint Francis where she continued her career.

At Saint Francis, Lewis was named all conference three years, an NAIA All American as a senior and earned prestigious ESPN CoSIDA Academic All-American recognition.  She ranks seventh all-time for the Cougars with 1,362 career points, while being awarded as outstanding biology student all four years, graduating with a 3.9 grade point average.

Gilles also earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis in 2010 and currently works for Possibilities Northeast in Fort Wayne as a pediatric physical therapist.
