Box Score 2 GOSHEN, Ind. — Leah Herrman, Emily Cummings and Ri Koteles all homered Friday as the Goshen College softball team extended its winning streak to four games, trouncing Huntington University 15-3 and 9-4 in a Crossroads League doubleheader at the John Ingold Athletic Complex.
Herrman and Cummings homered in the opener as the Maple Leafs (12-18, 6-7) broke open a 0-0 deadlock with eight runs in the third inning and seven more in the fourth to trigger the run rule. Jessica Bachtell went 4 for 4 with 4 runs batted in, Herrman added three hits, and Cassandra Espinoza and Katherine Boyer each added doubles.
Herrman posted two of GC's four doubles in the nightcap, which saw the hosts lead 3-0 after an inning and 5-0 after two. Madison Matthews recorded a game-high three runs and joined Cummings and Herrman with three hits. Koteles uncorked her three-run homer in the sixth to take a 9-2 lead.
Emily Cummings and Rayna Moraga pitched complete games for the Maple Leafs.
Goshen returns to the field Saturday against Taylor University for a "super doubleheader": in addition to playing the regularly-scheduled twinbill, the teams will also complete a game that was suspended earlier in the season. Action begins with the completion of the suspended game at 1 p.m.
