Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The winning ways of the Goshen College men's volleyball team came to an abrupt end Tuesday night at the hands of Indiana Tech in a three-set loss, 25-20, 25-20, 25-23 in the Schaefer Center.
Alexander Rabadzhiev led the Maple Leafs with 8 kills and Andy Bennett added 8 blocks, but the Maple Leafs (10-6) coughed up 28 errors between attacking and receiving. Bennett and Paraha each finished with 4 winners.
Indiana Tech (8-12) registered 9 kills apiece from Daynte Stewart, Cameron Ternent and Dante Siracusa. Siracusa added 5 blocks and Stewart had 3. Chandler Davis led all players with 30 assists; Ternent and Mason Milan each posted 8 blocks.
The first set was tied 11 times before 13-all, but the Warriors took 8 of the last 11 rallies to rip off the set on a Milan ace. Indiana Tech never trailed in the second set, opening a 12-7 lead, but GC used a 3-point run on Nick Yutzy's serve to get back within two at 21-19. Michael Wahl's attack was blocked to run the lead to three and Tech finished off the set 25-20.
The Warriors used a 6-0 run to take an early lead in the third set before Goshen's 5-1 run put the Maple Leafs six points from extending the match. Siracusa posted four kills in the last eight rallies while Ternant had an ace and a kill over the same span to seal the win for Tech.
Michael Wahl led Goshen with 18 assists to go with 2 kills and a block.
Goshen returns home for its next two matches, squaring off with Olivet College at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Judson University on Saturday.
