NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Zoe Zellers came off the bench and scored 15 points with eight rebounds in an 81-65 loss at IU-Southeast on Friday evening. The Grenadiers outscored the Maple Leafs 23-12 in the first quarter.
Goshen traveled to New Albany, Indiana, for the first matchup between the two Hoosier state schools since 2011.
Zion Neat started the game with a three pointer to give Goshen an early lead just 16 seconds into the game, but the Grenadiers scored the next seven points.
IU-Southeast had as much as a 14-point lead in the second quarter before Goshen brought it back down to nine points at the half - 43-34.

Zoe Zellers, and
Syanne Mohamed made layups during a 6-0 Goshen run in the third that put the Leafs within three points. But the Grenadiers responded with a 9-0 run later in the quarter that would take the lead to 16.
Syanne Mohamed played in all four quarters, but fouled out in the fourth with eight points in 11 minutes.
Zoe Zellers primarily filled the center role, scoring 15 points with eight rebounds in 27 minutes of action. IU-Southeast went on to win by 16 points and improve to 8-4 this year.
Emmy Ralph guided the Grenadiers with 24 points, and Alex Maher had ten rebounds.
Zion Neat was the leading scorer for the Leafs with 17 points and three three-pointers.
Kiana Oelling had four assists and
Nay Butler provided three steals. Goshen shot just 38.2% from the field and 19.0% behind the arc. On the other hand, IU-Southeast shot 52.7% and 46.7% from deep. The .527 field goal percentage is the highest a Goshen opponent has had this season. Even though GC won the rebound margin by four, the home team was more efficient with the shots they had.
The next stop for the Leafs is in Kentucky, as they take on Midway University. That game is scheduled for Sunday, December 18, at 2:00 pm.
