HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The women's basketball team suffered a blow in the penultimate game of the regular season in Huntington on Wednesday night. The Foresters jumped to a quick 20-3 lead and held on for a 76-65 victory.
After the home team's ferocious start, Goshen cut the 17-point deficit to just 11 points by the first quarter's end. It was still 11 points at the half. The Leafs came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Foresters 22-12 in that quarter and pulling to within one point. A three-pointer by
Suzanna Yoder early in the fourth quarter gave Goshen its first lead of the game, though it wouldn't last for long. Huntington tied it up 15 seconds later, and they would be in control from thereon.
Taniece Chapman had her ninth double-double of the season – displaying 20 points with 12 rebounds. She had four offensive rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Janara Flowers had ten points, shooting 4-7.

Sophia Eli scored five or more points each off the bench.
Huntington (4-21, 2-12 CL) came into the game averaging just 52.7 points per game and 45.67 in their last three games, but they put up 76 tonight. Goshen has lost nine straight games to the Foresters. Celeste Ryman and Erica Zook led Huntington, scoring 19 points apiece. Dazia Drale had 14.
Goshen (12-16, 6-10 CL) completes the regular season on Saturday, February 19 at 1:00 pm. The Maple Leafs take on Bethel for Senior Day and a U.S. Highway 20 Cup matchup. The senior players that will be recognized are
