GOSHEN, Ind. – The #10 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer team has now outscored their opponents 35-2 this season after a 4-0 clean slate against Goshen on Saturday night.
The Goshen defense kept the Wildcats in check for most of the first half. Macy Browning scored ten minutes in for IWU on a cross that ended up in the top corner of the net, beyond the extended arm of Goshen goalkeeper
Gracie Garcia. They added one more right before the half on a redirect of a shot off target that was controlled and scored by Emily Carter. Indiana Wesleyan added two more in the second half, one collected from a loose ball and another on a free kick.
Gracie Garcia made nine saves for Goshen, doubling her season total. Indiana Wesleyan had 13 shots in each half and Goshen had two for the game. The Wildcats (8-0-1, 1-0 CL) have shutout seven of the nine teams they have faced this season.
The Maple Leafs (3-5-1, 0-1 CL) have three road games in a row before playing at home again on October 12. Goshen is at Mount Vernon Nazarene on Wednesday, September 28, at 7:00 pm.
