Lang, Garcia guide Leafs to 2-0 shutout

Lang puts four shots on goal

GOSHEN, Ind. - Seja Lang scored twice for Goshen as the Maple Leafs women's soccer team defeated Point Park 2-0 at the GC Soccer Complex on Saturday night.

Lang bookended the match with an early goal in the ninth minute and a late goal in the 81st minute. Her second goal came off an assist by Katie Sauder.

The Leafs doubled the Pioneers in shots on goal (8-4) and more than doubled the visitors in shots (11-5).

Gracie Garcia made four saves for Goshen during her 90 minutes in goal. This is the first shutout of the season for the Goshen defense. The team defeated Point Park last year in Pittsburgh, also by a score of 2-0.

Lang's four shots on goal and two goals tie career highs for the sophomore from Walkerton, Indiana.

Now at 2-2-0, Goshen completes the holiday weekend at home with a Labor Day game on Monday, September 5, at 3:00 pm. The Leafs will host West Virginia Tech.
