GC goes off on 16-0 run in loss to #16 Marian

Jo Kynard scores a career-high 15 points

GOSHEN, Ind. - Five Maple Leafs players scored in double figures during a high-scoring loss against #16 Marian on Saturday afternoon. Although Goshen had a 16-0 run in the second half, the Knights won 97-82.

Marian started on a 7-0 run, partly due to five points from Hayden Langkabel. They were up by double-digits less than five minutes into the game and had as much as a 28-point lead in the first half. The Knights had 58 first-half points compared to 33 for the Leafs.

However, Goshen scored 49 points in the second half. Marian had a 33-point lead when GC went off on a 16-0 run, which made it a 17-point game. Jo Kynard scored six of the points during that period, including a three-pointer that made the score 74-57. The Leafs shot 57% in the second half after 34% in the first half. Goshen outscored Marian by ten in the half, but the Knights prevailed 97-82.

Isaac Miller scored 17 points for Goshen - his second-highest point total in a game this season and his most in a conference game. His seven rebounds were a career-high. Jo Kynard scored a career-high 15 points, nearly doubling his previous high of eight. Caleb Wright scored 14 points and has had multiple assists in five of the last six games. He is on an 18-game assist streak. Other double-digit scorers were Elias Ramirez with 11 points and Greg Johnson with 14 off the bench.

Marian was led by Taeshon Cherry, who scored 16 points in 17 minutes. He brought down seven rebounds. In the previous meeting between the teams just 21 days ago in Indianapolis, Marian won 100-51.
