UPLAND, Ind. - Jason Hubbard proved why he is the leading scorer in the Crossroads League on Wednesday night as the senior forward scored 29 in a 71-59 win over the Maple Leafs.
The teams were tied at 15 before Taylor scored the next five to create a slight separation. They had their first double-digit lead with 1:16 to go in the first half and held an eight-point lead at the break.
Goshen went on a run in the second half after being down 40-33.
Elias Ramirez hit a jumper, and later
Isaac Miller added a jumper in the paint.
Kedrick Bibby got a rebound on one end and hit a shot on the other to give the Leafs a 41-40 lead, capping off an eight-point run.
However, Taylor retook the lead just 21 seconds later and wouldn't lose it again. The Maple Leafs still fought and kept it within a few points for a while, but the Trojans later went on a 16-4 run and had a 13-point advantage with a minute to go on their way to a 12-point victory.
Jason Hubbard posted 29 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals for TU. He was averaging 23.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season. Goshen only lost the rebound margin by three but had a season-high 18 turnovers and shot 26.3% from long range.
