MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The Goshen men's soccer team sent in ten shots, and
Ruam Barbosa made eight saves on the defensive end, but they lost to Mount Vernon Nazarene 3-0 on the road on Wednesday night.
Goshen's ten shots are their fifth-most in a game this season, but only four were on frame. Mount Vernon rattled off 25 shots, with 16 coming in the second half. Eleven of theirs were on target.
After scoring a goal on Saturday,
Stephen Bandi came off the bench to put up two shots, with one being on goal.
Luiz Matteus Pontes,
Mario Perez and
Wendo Kisila also had shots on goal for the Leafs. Barbosa stopped eight of the 11 shots he faced. While he hasn't played in more than 33% of the team's goalie minutes this season, Barbosa's save percentage of .808 would be second in the conference. He has made 21 saves and allowed five goals in the 270 minutes he has played.
Goshen (1-11-2, 0-4-1 CL) is at Saint Francis (7-4-3, 0-2-3 CL) on Saturday, October 14, at 7:00 pm.
