GOSHEN, Ind. - The Goshen Maple Leafs lost in three sets to Mount Vernon Nazarene on Friday night in Goshen, 25-18, 25-22, 25-14. Goshen had just one ace compared to six for the Cougars.
GC had the lead in the first set just once, as MVNU used a 5-0 run to build a lead in the middle of the set. Goshen was within one late in the second set at 18-17, but Mount Vernon won narrowly 25-22. The teams were tied 9-9 in the third before the visitors ran away with it en route to a 25-14 win in the final set.
Christina Towne had 11 digs and eight kills for Goshen.
Sadie Brenneman had nine kills, four digs and Goshen's lone service ace.
Bailee Brown had two block assists and
Kelsie Hankins totaled 27 assists.
Goshen hosts Huntington on Saturday at 3:00 pm for Senior Day.
