GOSHEN, Ind. - The women's volleyball team earned their eighth nonconference win on Saturday in four sets against IU-South Bend. It is their most nonconference wins in a season since 2017.
Goshen won the first set 25-17 and brought down 16 kills in the second set during a 25-15 win. The Titans responded with a 25-15 victory in the third set, but the Leafs dominated in the fourth with a one-sided 25-11 score. In that set, GC had a .520 hitting percentage, while IUSB was at .000.
The Maple Leafs had lost their previous three matchups against the Titans.
Emily Lynch had 16 kills, the most she has had in a game since September 1 against Midway.
Kelsie Hankins had 38 assists and
Brenna Spangler led the team with six blocks. The Leafs had 13 more kills, four more aces, and 10 more assists than their opponent.
Goshen is 8-16 this year but still looking for their first conference win. Their next chance is Wednesday, October 11, at 7:00 pm, when they are at Indiana Wesleyan.
