GOSHEN, Ind. - Syanne Mohamed led the Maple Leafs to a fifth straight win on Wednesday with a double-double against Holy Cross, winning 75-67. The victory also keeps the Maple Leafs undefeated at home on the year.
Mohamed collected 19 points and 15 rebounds and a steal in the win. She shot 8-12 from the floor and 3-6 at the free-throw line. Five of her rebounds were on the offensive end. It is the fourth double-double of her career. Mohamed got the double-double on the first possession of the fourth quarter, despite picking up her second foul with 8:39 to go in the second quarter. She came back to play in the third and finished with just three fouls.
After leading 11-8 at the end of the first quarter, Goshen never looked back in the tight scoring contest.Â
In addition to Mohamed,
Zion Neat,
Kyla Foster, and
Zoe Zellers also scored in double figures. Neat has scored at least ten points in the last six games, coming up with 16 points, while Foster and Zellers both contributed 12.
The Leafs most recently played Holy Cross on November 5 last year and lost 84-48. The result of last night's game was a 44-point swing in the positive direction.
Goshen (5-2) hosts Bethel University on Saturday, November 18, at 1:00 pm in the battle for the US Highway 20 Cup.
