Warner uses late push to beat Goshen

Goshen had their second-best shooting game, worst offensive rebounding game of the season

LAKE WALES, Fla. - Although they were tied at the half, Goshen lost to Warner 90-77 in Lakes Wales, Florida, on Saturday, after the game was delayed due to a power outage. The Leafs have given up 90+ points in four of their last five regular season games.

Warner's lead was at 66-65 with nine minutes to go. Judah Simfukwe had just hit a three to put the Leafs within one. But for the rest of the game, the Royals went on a 24-12 run to pull away.

Karson Jenkins scored 20 points with three rebounds on 7-12 shooting. Isaac Miller had 15 points, Marcus Northern had 13 and Simfukwe had 13 off the bench. Jared Bonds scored nine points from free-throws but had seven turnovers. Goshen had a better field goal percentage and three-point percentage than Warner but were outrebounded by 16. The Leafs had just one rebound on the offensive end, which is a season-low. The 54.8 field goal percentage on the other hand, is their second-highest this season.

Goshen returns to action on Saturday, December 30, at Judson for a 3:00 pm tipoff.
