Goshen scores season-high 91 points but can't complete second half rally against Cougars

Jenkins and Miller both had 20+ point games

GOSHEN, Ind. - Although they outscored the Cougars by 11 in the second half and put up a season-high 91 points, a 16-point halftime deficit was too much for the Maple Leafs to overcome in a 96-91 loss to Mount Vernon Nazarene.

Goshen scored 56 points in the second half compared to 35 in the first half. The Leafs had two 20+ point scorers in the game. Karson Jenkins had 24 points with five rebounds. Isaac Miller had 20 points and five rebounds and shot an efficient 7-8 from the field. He was 3-4 from behind the arc and 3-3 at the free-throw line. Judah Simfukwe scored 16 points, and Josh Similien scored 14, making all four shots. He was 3-3 from three and 3-4 at the free-throw line.

In the tale of two halves, GC shot 43% in the first half (12-28) but 70% in the second (19-27). They were outrebounded by nine but forced a season-high 17 turnovers. The Cougars improved to 7-1 with the win.

The Maple Leafs take on Loyola Chicago on Saturday, December 9, at 6:00 pm ET in an exhibition game. The Ramblers recently made the NCAA Division I tournament Final Four in 2018.
