GOSHEN, Ind. - A goal from Gonzalo Sanz at the start of the second half made all the difference as Lawrence Tech beat the Goshen men's soccer team 1-0 at the GC Soccer Complex on Saturday night.
The Maple Leafs defense played well, only allowing the Blue Devils to get one shot on goal. Yet that shot found the back of the net, and all of Goshen's four shots on goal were saved. The Leafs also had eight corner kick opportunities, including six in the first half.
Tebello Ntene had two shots on goal, while
John Mlondani and
Tim Wilkening had one.
Lawrence Tech was 5-8-6 last year with a 5-4-2 record in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. Goshen will look for their first win of the season at home on Wednesday, August 30, at 8:00 pm against Holy Cross College. The women play the first game of the doubleheader at 6:00 pm.
