GOSHEN, Ind. - Two second-half goals put the Siena Heights Saints on top of the Maple Leafs women's soccer team 2-0 on Saturday night in Goshen. The Leafs are now 5-2-1 this season.
The Saints' defense limited Goshen's offensive opportunities, while their offense put up 27 shots with 14 on goal.
Gracie Garcia made five saves and allowed no goals in her 45 minutes as goalkeeper and
Victoria Naylor made seven saves with two goals allowed in her half. Goshen's three shots on goal came from
Seja Lang,
Brynja Hjartardottir and
Sophia Yoder. Yoder, second in the Crossroads League in shots taken, was held to just one try this evening.
Goshen has been held scoreless in their three matches since a 3-0 Labor Day win against Carolina. The two goals they allowed tonight were just the fourth and fifth goals they have given up all season.
