SYLVANIA, Ohio - The Goshen women's soccer team held on to a 0-0 tie on the road at Lourdes in a Wednesday afternoon game despite being outshot 15-2.
Victoria Naylor made four saves for Goshen and has the second-best save percentage in the Crossroads League at 89.2%.
In the 18th minute, Zoey Trout picked up a yellow card for the Gray Wolves, and Goshen's
Amy Drew took a red card. This left the Maple Leafs with just ten players for the rest of the game. Lourdes had eight shots in the first half and another seven in the second, but only four of the 15 shots were on frame.
Both of Goshen's two shots were shots on goal.
Sophia Yoder had one in the ninth minute, and
Brynja Hjartardottir had the other in the 67th minute. The Leafs had 15 fouls compared to just six for Lourdes.
With only Crossroads League games left on the regular season schedule for Goshen, the Leafs start conference play on the road this Saturday, September 23. They will face Huntington at 1:30 pm.
