GOSHEN, Ind. - The women's volleyball team started the first of two weekend road matches with a loss against Mount Vernon Nazarene in Ohio. The Cougars won in three sets 25-18, 25-15, 25-11.
Goshen had ten kills in the first set but 13 in the next two combined. MVNU had an astounding hitting percentage of .654 in the final set, with 17 kills and no attack errors.

Emily Lynch and
Brenna Spangler had two block assists each for the Maple Leafs.
Alaina Wolfe had ten digs and is fourth in the league in that category.
Gwyn Bellamy led the team with nine kills, and
Sadie Brenneman had eight. Brenneman is fifth in the league in kills. Goshen was only down a point in the first set at 18-17 until the home team ended the set by scoring seven of the final eight points.
Mount Vernon Nazarene is now 17-3 this season, while Goshen is at 7-11. The Leafs are at Huntington on Saturday at 3:00 pm before five straight matches at home.
